Klant is Koning(h) wins Marketing Challenge
On Wednesday 30 May last, the Marketing Challenge Award was presented to Joop Groot Wesseldijk and Thijs Assink of De Koningh Medical Systems from Arnhem. The prize was awarded for their innovative Klant is Koning(h) (Customer is K(on)ing(h)) approach, or KIK for short. By forming KIK teams, customers are involved at an early stage in the solutions that De Koningh offers. This approach not only saves a lot of time and money, but also makes a long term improvement in the relation that De Koningh has with its customers. According to the jury this is the essence of Marketing.
The prize consists of a bronze figurine, designed by artist Lia Krol from Erichem, a number of hours of consultancy from PriceWaterhouseCoopers and a day of mentoring from marketing strategist Wim de Vries from Het Strategem.
The Marketing Challenge is masterclass in marketing strategy for business-to-business marketing. What makes this masterclass special is that two participants take part on behalf of a company who compete with pairs from other participating companies. The test of strength arises from the participants being visited by a Flying Squad who come and look whether, how and to what extent the knowledge that has been acquired during the learning sessions is also incorporated into daily business practice.
Participation in the Marketing Challenge is only open to companies in the provinces of Gelderland and Overijssel. Marketing Challenge has been developed by Ontwikkelingsmaatschappij Oost Nederland (Oost NV, East Netherlands Development Company).
